' l l - l ' 1 , l 1 t t 'itll ' BAND The band, which was reorganized in the fall of 1946 by Mr. Watson, has-increased its activities during l947-48. During the football season the band furnished pep music, and a colorful drill during the half oi each home game. Concert work was the major activity of the second semester. The improved balance ot instrumentation this year helped to make this a most enjoyable activity for all the members, and also raised the quality of music in the air which floated out of 4th tloor Windows in Old Main. Several out-oi-town trips provided fun for the members. Rex Davis served as drum major during the fall semester, Cnd Vernon McDonald during the spring session. TAU LAMBDA CHI The Tau Lambda Chi was organized in 1946 as a non-secret, democratic frater- nity, created to promote true Christian fellowship, and to provide wholesome social activities for the students of the college. Membership is open, witha few necessary limitations, to all men students. The fraternity sponsors several parties and picnics during the school year, including an all-school Halloween party, a smoker for the boys, and a formal banquet for members and their guests. The motto of the organization is Esprit de Corps ,4 its' colors are scarlet and gold, and the flower is the red carnation.
