vw PHI THETA KAPPA The Alpha Phi Chapter ot Phi Theta Kappa, the junior college branch of the National Honor Society, with its twenty-two members is a highly respected organi- zation on this campus The members are selected 'by the faculty from the student body, on the basis of scholastic achievement and participation in school affairs. Texas Lutheran College obtained a charter for establishing the Alpha Phi Chap- ter in l93l, and since then nearly two hundred young people have. been initiated 'into the select group. Meetingl monthly, the fraternity has an educational discussion or report centering about some topic of interest and importance. The chapter mem- bers strive for the threefold ideals of Phi Theta Kappa: Wisdom, Aspiration, and Purity. President .......,.... BETA ALPHA SIGMA The Beta Alpha Sigma was organized by ten girls in l934 with the purpose ot bettering its members morally, intellectually, and socially. The organization has be- come deeply rooted in Texas Lutheran College campus activities. Its members are chosen for their high ideals-both scholastic and moral with an ultimate goal of high standards and lasting friendship. Each year the Beta Alpha Sigma asks another group of girls to become their sisters and continue the activities ot, their predeces- sors.
