Texas High Plays - That's Entertainment! Again this year, three plays were presented by the drama department. The Junior Play was presented on the nights of December 2, 3, and 4. The All-School Musical was presented Febru- ary I9-22. The Senior Play was not presented until after press time. Time Out For Ginger was put on by the junior class to raise money for their prom. Star- ring in the play was Fred Norton. He portrayed the father of Ginger iLesa Youngl, the first girl in her high school to make the varsity football team. Also in the play were Debbie Henry, Martha Humphreys, David Joseph, Karla Rog- ers, Debbie Thomsen, Randy White, and Bill Tinsley. The Texas High music and drama depart- ments combined their talents to perform Car- ousel, the All-School Musical. Starring in the Rogers and Hammerstein production were Susan Owen, Tracy Jones, James Michael, Ginger Wreyforcl, Julie Patterson, and Lisa i Jones. I I MAN THIS IS FUN -Juniors Tony Elam and Richard Cook, musical danc- ers, practice on dance routines during play practice. DON'T BE SO SURE - Fred Norton and Debra Henry warn Randy White about dating their daughter, Ginger. BLOW HIGH - Billy lTracey Jonesl and Jigger Uames Michaell practice on their singing selections during warm-up before rehearsal.

The THS parties and dances brought entertainment Starting off the i974-l 975 school year with parties and dances was the Sophomore Sock Hop which was held in the Student Center September 24. The dress was in the style of the 5O's. The band was 'Cross Tie Junction.' THS Homecoming dance was held November 15 in the Student Center. The band was 'Cross Tie Junction.' The dress was formal. Sadie Hawkins dance was held on Jan- uary l7, sponsored by the Pep Squad. The dress was country style. The Soul Providers presented the music. At this dance the girls got a chance to take the guys out. The annual Rosebud dance was held February l5, 1975. Sweethearts were announced and the band was 'Sweet Cider.' The dress was formal. The parties and dances gave the students a form of entertainment. SLOW GROOVIN' - Students take time out from the fast pace of today to a slow dance of yesterday at the Sophomore Sock Hop held in September. lm is

se A DOZEN CARNATIONS TO ROOM 42 - AY members Fred How- they distribute them to the various homerooms. AY, having topped ard, Wilma Waller and Carol Chiarizio sort out carnations before past sales, sold over 5000 carnations this year. Mr. David Bean Members of Allied Youth con- tinued the fight against alcohol- ism and drug problems this year. Activities and meetings, held once a month, included socials, carnation sales, a Southwest Conference in the Spring, and drug seminars conducted in area schools. Points were awarded to members for various services rendered. Those members with enough points collected were able to attend the Allied Youth conference. Allied Youth officers were Jeff Williams, president, Kay Myers, program chairman, Billy Raney, socials chairman, Susan Owen, membership chairman, Pam Pavatt, publicity chairman, and Billy Case, sgt-at-arms. Mrs. David Bean served as sponsor. 24 assumed sponsorship for AY FlFTY-SIX AND - Jeff Williams, Susan Owen and Mr. David Bean tally the amount of carnations sold for Valentine's Day.
