Fall set pace for an extremely eventful year ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR - Major- time to the beat of the Texas High School Marching Band. The event ettes Barbara Stephenson, Betty Pitchford, and Diane Graves keep is the Four States Fair Parade. The back to school rumble kept THS students on their toes, trying to get used to their new schedules and in some cases to a new school. There were very few cur- ricular activities going on at first, but later on Juniors met with the people from Bal- four about ring orders. The orders were taken on September 9. During the same week clubs went on drives to recruit new members trying to reach new heights in membership. Also during that week Year- book pictures were taken. A special delight to most Texas High students was the rival game between the mighty Tigers and the ferocious Razor- backs. This game brought the bi-city together and started out a hopeful foot- ball season. Student Council sponsored a sock hop in honor of the beginning Sophomores. PTSA later had a membership drive. In its effort to achieve 10070 membership it offered a free hour to the students. Winter festivities enlightened school days LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE WORTHWHILE - Yearbook Co-Editor sports writer Kim Gorum take notes on the sports writing seminar Joey Wuertz, iunior photographer Randall Brown, and Tiger Times they attended during their stay in Denton. December was highlighted with the Junior play, Time Out For Ginger, and the visit made by Santa Clause himself. Also this month the Yearbook and Tiger Times staffs went to the High School Press Association meetings in Denton, and the All Language Festival included members of all four foreign clubs and a variety of favorite dishes from each area. The Pep Squad sponsored a dance in honor of Sadie Hawkins. Government classes participated in a mock conven- tion, where the usual procedures of a convention were followed. February was the month for sweet- hearts. On Valentine's Day AY distrib- uted carnations and on the 15 Rosebuds held a dance especially for the club's sweethearts. The Musical, 'Carousel' ran from 19-20. CoEd HiY members attended State Convention 20-22. Finally in Febru- ary students were engaged in their quar- ter exams. I'LL TRADE YOU SEVEN - Special delegates Bruce Strawn, Mike Smith, and Mark Young negotiate at the Know-Nothing party's Convention.
