JOHN PAUL KARCt IER Entered -- 1941 l.atigo -- Advertising Manager Football Lcttvrrnan - 1942, '44 Basketball Letter -f 1945 Silver Football -- i941 Color Sergeant Probable College -- University of Colorado fowl PAUL entered T.C.U. in 1941, and during four years he has built up a spirit of high esteem in the minds of his teachers and classmates. Long legs and a voice that carries a country mile are the chief characteristics of Paul. His high, shrielaing voice may be heard pouring from the building throughout the day. Most of Pauls Wednesday after- noons are spent in the detention hall. Red marlzs seem to be his second nature, and wherever you Find them, there Paul will be. For the past several years he has been out regularly for Varsity football. Twice in the history of his football career he has lettered in this sport. This past season, as an outstanding baslcetball player, he received his bas- lretball award. lt is a festive day, indeed, when Paul manages to plod his weary way to school. lvlost consistently he is absent on test days and it has become a standing jolce in the senior class. Mathematics have been his most shining subject, and he has received honors in this subject on several occasions. After a full summer's worlc at hard labor, Paul plans to enter the University of Colorado. Here they do not have the Red Marla system and we all feel that without these annoyances Paul will have a successful future at this school. . it 4 1 9. l 1 lj ft N

ITORREST HOPKINS NUIRE, JR. lfnlvrvd -- 10-1 I Student Council -- 1943, '-H, ,451 President, 1945 Latigo r- Assistant Advertising lvlanager Round Table - Contributor Dan f'c- Committees'-' l943, '44, '45 ifooiimit 1.4-ttvr - 1941, '42, '43, '44 limos:-lmall Squad -f 1041-'-15 Rille lr-am -' I9-ll St-ztond l.ic-utenant, I9-Hg Captain, 1945 Enlisted in Navy X10 f ff lit 7Rlll'1Sl4 entered T.C.D. four years ago ancl during this long period he has made a very outstanding record for himself. Aside from being an industrious student, he has entered into nearly every form of sports, and other extra curricular activities. The easiest way of summin f n m Forrest's s orts career is to sa that he has artici ated in eve one exce t le I P P tennis and baslaetlaall. He is proudest ol' the fact that he is the only four-year letterman in lootlnall. As the saying goes, big lnoys have the lnest dispositionsg well, Forrest certainly lives np to this statement. Someone Figured that the average weight of the T.C.D. boys would decrease live pounds if Forrest were not included in this average. lt's a rare thing indeed to have one person in control of the Student Council and military unit. Forrest is the President ol' the Council and Cadet Captain in the Unit. Anyway, he is a rarity himself. But seriously, Forrest has scored the 'lgrand slam of T.C.D., and over this period of four years has piled up a record that could he envied by anyone. After graduation For- rest will enter the Navy's V-6 Program and we lcnow he will continue in the same out standing manner which he has shown here. A?
