The Stingarees stuck to the ground for most of their yard- age, picking up short gains of four and five yards over guard and tackle. They took to the air only four times, completing two, one a 12-yard strike from Quar- terback Richard Schwarz to Right End John Shannon for the first Sting score. Kirwin moved the ball around well in their own territory but the Stings didn't allow them to cross the 50-yard-line until early in the fourth quarter. The deep- est penetration the Bucs could muster until then was to their own 49. It wasn't until Sting Coach Ed Staggs sent in his re- serves in the fourth quarter that the Bucs could manage any kind of sustained offense. The Stings romped to 263- yards rushing to defeat Aldine, 25-0. It was the second straight win for the Stings, who conquer- ed Kirwin, 27-13, in their opener. The Stingarees took the open- ing kickoff and marched 64 yards in 17 plays to score a touchdown, Thornton Medley, who scored three touchdowns during the night to spark Texas City, clirnaxed the drive by go- ing over from the four yard line. Bobby Shosty added the extra point by conversion to put the Stingarees out front, 7-0. The Stingarees completely dominated the first half, scoring all three of their touchdowns and piling up most of the rush- ing yardage. The Panthers were a rejuvenated team in the final half as they tallied in the third and fourth quarters and held the Stings to one lone threat that died on the Jeff Davis seven- yard line.
