It tries to describe some of the debt your growing University owes to its proud history. It tries to say that this jubilee year, like all the other seventy-four years, Texas Christian University is more than buildings, more than lectures and exams, more than dorm life and dances. The Yearbook tries to say this historic year that T. C. U. is the hearts of the people devoted to it . . . that T. C. U. is the good years spent here . . . that T. C. Untiring devotionl' loses all its triteness when it de- The inspiring influence of Gayle Scott has made a success of many and will continue to be reflected in the lives of his associates. He imparted to his students in classroom and .field his knowledge of geology and his philosophy of life. His faith in them was returned by their faith and a willingness to learn. The many who knew and loved him can only endeavor to reach his example of loyalty, integrity and courage, expressed in his incessant devotion to T. C. U. and its ideals, and his way of life. His outstanding and unwavering intel- lectual honesty won him esteem in many fields. We could not cease to remember one who is so much a part of T. C. Willard Ridings' lifelong attitude to his school and to his work as head of the publications department. His love for T. C. U. helped him spread its name across the country His activities have made the University's celebration of jubilee Year more complete. Whenever the annual staff needed scarce copies of pictures, they knew to hurry to his files. The Skiff people could continue after his death because he had taught them well. We cannot leave off saying, We remember. Because of what he taught us, we will know that in journalism is a profession worthy of one's whole life devoted to it-as his was. What- ever pages are good in this book, Prof made as much as any of us. We remember.
