Division Page Cartoons fsck Ziffuife al A Bigger and Better Annual has been the goal of the Staff of this year's Horned Frog. In conjunction with this goal-we have tried to present good, clear photographs, a few enlivening cartoons and an oc- casional poem to convey to the reader the spirit underlying the purpose of the book. In this year of Nineteen Hundred and Forty- seven when individuals, communities and na- tionalities are struggling for a permanent peace, a permanent way of life and the establishment of a new, insured hope for civilization, in this year of anxiety and concern over the outcome of our foreign relations, your staff believes it has chosen a theme relevant to the normal, peaceful return to everyday campus life- Expansion for the Future. Our school and campus life are not only undergoing the pains of reconversion, but the growing pains of expansion. In addi- tion to new buildings and new courses, new features are being offered to help us in our pursuit for truth, knowledge and happiness. It has been mentioned by several observers that the l947 Horned Frog may be a proving ground for year- books of the future. Our engraver re- marked that this year's alternating colors of the class section may mark the beginning of a new era in yearbooks. Regardless of the effect on fu- ture yearbooks, we have tried to compile a book that you, as fel- low students, will enjoy, and we hope that it will remain differ- ent in the fact that it is a true picture of this different, but memorable year at T. C. U. Poetry BY ennq .Band Poole Speaking for the Staff, I I ,L would like to convey our ap- preciation and thanks to all who have cooperated in making this book possible. May our efforts be your enjoyment.-i-l- .
