The food is awful; the friends aren’t Dorm life is always loud when you have to study and always quiet when you’re ready to party. Someone else always gets to the washing machine before you do and a 3 a,m. meal is impossible to get. For all this, dorm life is a memorable experience that is best captured by the overstatements about the food and the unstated friendships that evolve from loneliness and develop into lifetime relationships. 5
