Texas A I fans form a victory line as their team re- Opposite page: The Javelina's run with the ball to turns for the second half, an IS point loss. 'This year's A I vs SWT game was something else! The stands were packed with fans for both schools and excitement penetrat- ed every field play. The Hoggies cheered their team on hoping for a 10-year undefeated streak while the Bobcats cheered for the opposite result. At halftime they led-26 to 21, 28 While the Southwest team tackled Hoggies on the field. Southwest fans turned juvenile and tackled our goal post. Opposite page:The stands are full with cheering students, band members and visitors.

Todd Russell interviews a Sigma Chi roadie (Paul Nemec) in the Dec-a-Sig event at Derby Day. It's a week full of activity for the sorori- ties and fraternal little sister organiza- tions that I just found out about. I only got to see the pictures (since my Greek roommate forgot to invite me to the fun), but evidently the Sigs do this every year. The week began with the Miss Derby Day Pageant, continued with a billboard The Sigma Chi's have this event called Derby Day ... and Make a Sig Smile contest for spir- it, and climaxed with a morning of fun competition and an evening dance. The money earned from the dance proceeds is sent to Colorado's Wallace Village, a re- habilitation center for children with a minimal amount of brain damage, I wish I'd known about Derby Day sooner .. . Greeks group for Derby Day. Chi Omega's, Sigma Chis, Zeta Tau Alpha's and Alpha Delta Pi's. 27

We decided to form a victory line to keep the team's spirit in the game and had quite a time returning to our Make it Ja perfect 10' and the goal post tackle ... places in the stands. The noise was deafening everytime something hap- pened on the field. You really had to be here to believe it ! As A I contin- ually lost the ball and SWT scored touchdowns, the divided fans accord- ingly responded. We were in for a dis- appointment when the final buzzer witnessed a 45-27 victory for the Bob- cats. The night wasn't over though, Again, Ags and Greeks held parties and the Student Activities Board sponsored a River City dance in the Pub, What a weekend! Later,..
