A hustling bunch of Hoggies overcame a lack of exper- ience and height to give A I its first winning season since the 1957-58 campaign. The Jav cagers, with only 4 seniors on the L 1-man team, compiled a 12-11 season record to triple last year’s 4-19 mark. The Javs found the going a lot rougher in conference competition and were able to win only 4 out of 14 loop games played. Following the season s end. Hank Allen, Phil Shirk, and Leonard Anderson were named to the Lone Star Confer- ence honorable mention list. Anderson was also elected honorary captain for the year. Shirk and Allen led the team in both the rebounding and scoring departments.
