LECKIE, sponsor. student council The Student Council is the chief governing body on the A l campus. The most important function of the council is striving to improve the existing student government and to increase school spirit by carrying out the will of the students through their representatives. Dr. JAMES H. McCROCKLIN plays Santa at the annual Student- Faculty Christmas dance. The dance was co-sponsored by the Student Council and the Governing Board. Here, HARRY ZENNER, NELDA SAWYER, KENNETH STEWART, and KAYE ANNE LLOYD keep an eye on young JOHNNY McCROCKLIN.

Always one to do things quickly and ef- ficiently, Richard has made himself prac- tically indispensable on ROTC and APO circles . „ a good student too. JOAN ETHEREDGE . . . As editor of El Rancho, Joan has shown her ef- ficency and willingness to do lots of hard work. A cheerful attitude and a friendly smile best de- scribe her. JAMES SIMPSON Jim quietly and unobtrusively goes about being one of the busiest people on the campus. An agriculture major and an honor student, he is president of Alpha Chi, national honorary scholarship fraternity.
