NIERMAN, Professor of Chemistry, Chairman of Chemistry Department, and Director of Division of Graduate Studies With AGI since it began in 1925, Dr. Nierman is proudest of having taught young men and women who have been as successful in living as in their work. You've got to get old and retire before you can have hobbies, Dr Nierman professed. Nevertheless, he confessed pleasure in tinkering with automobiles and machinery. ' DR. I. DeWITT DAVIS, Professor of Education and Chairman of Education Department Dr.-Davis is proudest of being an old professor of an old school and of working with fine professors and young students. Never, for a minute, have I been unhappy. Dr. Davis has taught at AGI since the fall term of 1932. This teacher of teachers is also rather proud of his home at 715 West Nettie which was planned and built entirely by the Davis family. Constructed of caliche and cement five years ago, this old-world type hacienda home was built for this culture. climate, and vegetation, as well as for the activities of the dwellers. ' For fun, Dr. Davis versifies and plays tennis. A. F. DOERFLER, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds An avid movie photographer oft duty, Mr. Doerfler has come to love AGI in his three years here and plans to make this campus one of the most beauti- ful in the state. Mr. Doerfler plans to follow the pattern he used at Texas Lutheran Col- lege, of planting trees and shrubs particularly adapted to this climate and chosen to give the utmost in attractiveness. He has begun this work and uses waste water from the remodeled swimming pool for irrigation of the campus. 25 HANT PERRY Agriculture Agriculture ROBERTS RUSSELL 2 E:
