named The editor ot a yearbook is sorely limited in this his one spot for free comment. In it he naturally wishes to incorporate all of the many things that went into the making of the book. All the cooperation needs lauding. All the dissonance-the gripes-cry for publication. ' The editor's job, then, becomes one of selection. He may deal in 'many vague generalities or in a few specific state- ments. I have chosen the latter method. When the Fall term opened the photographers were here to take individual pic- tures. A place had been arranged for these sittings but due to repair workgoing on a new place had to be found. Mrs. Ora Parker, house mother of Seale Hall, didn't want the mess in her lap any more than anyone else. I plainly took advantage of an old friendship and dumped it in her lap. Mrs. Parker was nice about it. This is public thanks for being that way. Who else can one take advantage of ifnot his friends? That incident is typical of the help received generally in preparing this book. There are two others who need thanking. Patricia Holbein and Susan Campbell have the titles associate editor and copy editor after their names. The titles are decep- tive in the extreme. They did everything from sweeping the office floor to formulating policy. Many, many hours were spent at their practically uncompensated jobs.
