PRESIDENT LOFTIN Some major publications have referred to this year as the turning point for A, and I. The statement is prompted bv the many material plant improvements including a new science building, a new athletic stadium, a new dairy plant, new street pavement, and a reconstructed music conservatory. Perhaps also these editorial friends of the college were thinking of the large increase in enrollment, whose percentage excelled that of all other state-supported colleges. These editors did not know that the college has this year received the most commendable ratings from the State Department of Education and from the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges of any heretofore received; neither did they know of the line spirit that now prevails among the splendid young men and young women who populate our campus. This attractive year book, the first to be done in multicolor process, may well exemplify the beautiful society of college students, and the endearing friendships here engendered. J. O. LOFTIN.
