HAAS - : Haas Sweetheart Bryan Bearden named for: Richard E. Haas ’45, an independent oil and gas operator and cattleman; charter member of the Texas A M Letterman’s Club; member of the Aggie Club and Century Club; involved with the Association of Former Students. founded: October 1979 capacity: 268 women type: hallway, private bath location: North Area activities: Haas was involved in several parties and co-hosted the “New Year’s in November” formal in the fall. In the Crop Walk, the dorm raised over $750, more than any other dorm. The spring semester brought plans for road trips to Houston’s Galleria and to Astroworld, as well as for a “Roommate Game” based on television’s “The Newlywed Game.” 246 RHA

[I HART: HART SURGEONS named for: L. J. Hart, member and presi¬ dent of the Board of Directors from 1911- 1924. founded: 1930 capacity: 286 men type: ramp, general bath location: Central Area activities: In addition to planning several parties with other dorms, the men of Hart Hall worked to achieve their goal of cross¬ dining with every girls’ dorm. Beyond social activities, Hart Hall served the community by working with the Adopt-a-School Program, set up by the Bryan Chamber of Commerce. They planned a spring square dance to raise money for this program. Hart was also re¬ sponsible for organizing a lecture dealing with scholastic probation at the beginning of the spring semester. Dr. William Perry of the Academic Appeals Panel and Dr. Ludi Benja¬ min of the Psychology Dept, spoke at this campus-wide lecture. 248 RHA
