Sigma Phi Epsilon does Fight Night right by Peter Rocha It wasn’t exactly Rocky IV, but Fight Night did give boxing fans their mon¬ ey’s worth. The annual two-day boxing tourna¬ ment was the eighth presented by the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. The event, held at the Brazos County Pavil¬ ion on April 27 and 28, was open to all students. The pavilion, with its dirt floors and js open side, had a certain atmosphere £ that added to the weekend. This rough or unpolished look was also evident in the contestants, who should be ad¬ mired for their courage if not their skill. There was everything you would ex¬ pect to see, such as knockouts, head¬ butting, low-blows, bloody noses and more. A real crowd pleaser was the addi¬ tion of tag team sorority pillow fights. Teams of four young women entered the ring smiling, but quickly became just as fierce as the male competitors. Fans cheered continually throughout most of these bouts. At the end of the tournament the vic¬ tors were presented tophies. As in oth¬ er sporting events at Texas A M there were certainly no losers.
