Potpourri of Issues in Fall In the fall of 71, Great Issues presented a wide variety of topics for Texas A M students to enjoy. Bill Leonard, exec¬ utive vice-president of CBS News, presented the film, “The Selling of the Pentagon,” and explained CBS views in mak¬ ing the documentary. Dr. Marguante Fisher, professor of political science at Syracuse University, delivered a talk on “Women’s Liberation” that aroused everyone present. The talk started with a history of the women’s rights’ movement, but soon developed into a verbal battle when some of the males present taunted Dr. Fisher. Before it was over, some of the audience as well as the speaker were angry at the male chauvinists present. lola Flayden, the executive director of Americans for In¬ dian Opportunity and a Comanche, gave an informative talk on the “Indian in Contemporary Society.” The Indians face unique problems since no distinction is made between the two hundred cultures that exist. In their endless quest for a homeland, the Indians are experiencing a cultural break¬ down. Prophetess Jeane Dixon spoke on “The Future,” making predictions about Ed Kennedy’s life should he decide to run for President in 72. She talked about her powers and ex¬ plained that she believed them to be a God given gift. She asked Americans to “seek peace under God” and ended the talk by having the audience sing, “America The Beauti¬ ful.” Ed Wendler, executive director of Texas Intercollegiate Student Association spoke on “Student Rights in Texas.” He claimed that on college campuses many are being vio¬ lated.
