“Racism is America’s big en¬ emy’’ — Julian Bond, Georgia legislator, in a Political Forum Major Program speech. Bond, speaking to a packed MSC Ballroom, stated that black po¬ litical power would be much easier to attain than black eco¬ nomic power, but once political power is attained, economic power will follow. Bond also spoke on bussing, saying that it has been a very effective way of getting stu¬ dents to and from schools for years. “There is no objection to the yellow bus, there is ob¬ jection to the black body on the bus.” Julian Bond spoke to an overflowing audience in the MSC Ballroom.

He also went on to list the SSI’s disadvan¬ tages such as pollution of the ozone area and the unpleasant, sometimes hazardous sonic boom. Former Senator Ralph Yarborough gave a dynamic talk on the people’s loss of faith in the government due to unfilfilled campaign promises.
