DR. J. M. PRESCOn Dean of Science A good example of the value of A M’s Col¬ lege of Science is its imaginative approach to science. The new Institute of Life Sciences ex¬ emplifies this approach through its study of liv¬ ing organisms as working, related systems, not fragmented parts. Pre-medical and pre-dental graduates can vouch for the thorough training they received at A M in biology, chemistry and physics. To prepare students for careers in science, there is a variety of facilities. The Nu¬ clear Science Center houses one of the most powerful reactors on any campus in the nation. One of the largest Cyclotrons in the Southwest is on A M’s campus. In addition to these, the Data Processing Center has a sophisticated IBM 65 computer to enhance all the capabil- ites offered by Texas A M’s College of Science. College of Science 28
