During 1968, Texas A AA University presented WHO ' S WHO honors to 38 students. Approximately 750 univer¬ sities and colleges throughout the United States recognize their outstanding seniors by naming them to WHO ' S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES. The criteria for selection by the nominating committee include scholarship, participation and leader¬ ship in student activities, citizenship service to the school Vi-m wm tmmmimm .

Graduate College The Graduate College has come into its own in recent years with research in fields from nuclear reactor problems to mapping the ocean floor. Graduate studies at A AA offer education beyond the bachelor ' s level for both research and profes¬ sional pursuits. A AA is one of two state-supported institutions designated by the Texas Commission of Higher Educa¬ tion to assume leadership in graduate studies. The program at A AA concentrates on engineering, the basic sciences, agriculture, veterinary medicine and selected subjects within the liberal arts. Goal of graduate study is the creation of knowledge, fostered by bringing the best-thinking students and professors together into a critical mass bearing on a problem. Facilities for research at A AA are outstanding. There are 150 laboratories at the main plant in College Station and in field sites across the state. Some of the research facilities cannot be duplicated at any univer¬ sity in the Southwest. The annual research budget at A AA exceeds $18 million, much of which is spent on projects in which graduate students participate. 27
