-M Silver Zaps Vrflf; ' SSI? 1 W iMkS . wl m ■ {ss « ; ' i P V ' % Silver Taps is perhaps the most meaningful of all Aggie traditions. It is the last respect paid to a fellow Aggie who has died. Students leave their dorms quietly and find their way over the darkened campus to the lawn of the Academic Building. Slowly marching feet break the silence as the Ross Volunteer Firing Squad approaches. Three volleys of seven guns each pay tribute to the fallen comrade. Then Taps is played three times from the top of the Academic Building. As the last note fades into the night, students return to their rooms. J. Pinkie Downs Joseph G. Howell
