FROM THE DESK OF THE EDITOR . • • A YEAR OF CONTROVERSY! This is how we would title 1961-1962 at A AA. But we also feel that this controversy on campus has not clouded, but rather brightened, the future of A AA College. It seems to us that controversy almost always precedes progress. With the first re¬ ports of the Century Council in, the future is already taking a turn for the brighter side. The questions of coeducation, non-compulsory corps, and name change are going to rise again; however, whatever decisions are made, we feel sure that they will be made for the best, for a promising future. The 1962 AGGIELAND is the record of a great year, a year in which we feel A AA has made definite strides forward. We are very grateful to have had the chance to put down in black and white the highlights of the year. As we finish composing this goodbye to four of the best and most educational years of our lives, both in and out of the classroom, we feel sad at the thought of leaving Aggieland. Hov ever, in later years this sadness will change to nostalgia when we open our dusty copies of the AGGIELAND ' 62. Then we will realize that we saw history in the making, we witnessed, as we are witnessing now, Texas A AA enter into a new and grand era. Raleigh and Bill
