COMMITTEE The following items are those which the committee has pledged itself to support: 1. To develop professional leadership in agriculture, medicine, forestry and their al¬ lied field; in engineering, including the mechanic arts and technical and industrial training; in studies and applied sciences. 2. To develop educational leadership through the training of teachers for agriculture, en¬ gineering, and basic and applied sciences. 3. To develop military leadership by pro¬ viding a strong and effective system of military training. 4. To develop in potential leaders the moral and spiritual values essential for effective leadership in a democracy. 5. To develop an atmosphere of scholarship within which the faculty can realize its full potential for service to society and within which the student can be inspired toward the realization of his potentials. HALL Dean of Graduate Studies Objectives of the A AA College are maintained by the Executive Committee as set forth by the College by-laws. Under the direction of President Rud¬ der in weekly meetings, the committee decides how best to keep the college heading toward its primary objective stated by Statute: The leading object of this college shall be, without excluding other scientific and classroom studies, and including military tactics, to teach such branches of learning as are related to agriculture and the mechanical arts, in such a manner as the legislature may prescribe, in order to promote the liberal and practical education of the industrial classes in the several pursuits and professions in life. 14
