PRESIDENT EARL RUDDER A M COLLEGE OF TEXAS During the last year the College under President Rudder has oriented itself to new exciting programs including space technology, activation analysis, nuclear science, and others. New facilities have continued to be a hallmark of the Rudder administration. Acquisition of Bryan Air Force Base, the establishment of the Texas Maritime Academy, the completion of new wings on the Military Sciences Building, Physics Building, beginning of the Architecture Building, construction on the Plant Sci¬ ences Building and Olympic-Size Swimming Pool, among others, are good examples. September 1961, the enrollment at A M under Rudder ' s leadership was the highest it has been since the post World War II peak in 1 949. Progress in student life, retention of students and faculty, and an over-all move toward greater excellence continues to be accomplishments of the College under Rudder ' s leadership. 13
