A familiar couple at many campus activities is Dr. and Mrs. Harrington. They are shown here in the Presi¬ dent’s home, where every student is welcome. president Dr. Harrington, president of our college, was born in Plano, Texas, shortly after the turn of the century, and since the time of his gradua¬ tion from Plano High School, he has devoted his life to Texas A M. He received his bache¬ lor and master’s degrees here, as a member of the class of ’22, and earned his Doctor of Phi¬ losophy from Iowa State in 1941. Prior to this time, Dr. Harrington had taught at A M, and after completing his doctorate he returned to teach once again. He has remained at the col¬ lege since that time, and has achieved a dis¬ tinguished record. He became President of the college in 1950, and Chancellor of the Texas A M College system in September of 1953. He is the first graduate to hold these positions.

EARL RUDDER Vice-President of the A M College Earl Rudder of the class of ’32 became the first man to hold the position of Vice-President in charge of the A M College. Mr. Rudder began his term on the first of February, 1958, here on the college’s campus. He resigned his position as Commissioner of the General Land Office of Texas in order to take his post here, and is also holding the rank of Major General and commanding the 90th Infantry Division Reserve.
