OCTOBER AT A 6c M found the Aggies batting a 50-50 average in football—winning 2 and losing 2. On October 5 the maroon and white bowed to OU 10-7 in a heart-breaker at Norman, Oklahoma. A trek to Baton Rouge on October 12 was another disaster, losing 33-9 to Louisiana State University. The worm turned the next week-end, when the Aggies drubbed Texas Christian Horned Frogs to the tune of 14-0. A dance in Sbisa Hall, featuring the NTSTC orchestra, celebrated the victory Saturday night. Go west, young man ' was the theme of that week-end, with the Aggie rodeo and dance taking place. A visit to Waco on October 24 added a third win on the Aggies ' list, defeating Baylor University by a score of 14-0. Sid Smith of Bryan was elected president of the Veteran Students Association in a general election. Between week-ends Oscar Strauss, noted composer-conductor, brought his Strauss Festival to Guion Hall on October 20 for the initial Town Hall program of the year.
