STATES J AMERICA That the government of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from this earth, the United States joined with the twenty mine other United Nations in a living symbol of the power of unity and freedom. Geared to full wartime production throughout, we are providing food, materials, planes, ships, and weapons of war and armed forces for every battlefront in the world. Through our lenddease aid the Allies are smashing their way to courageous victory and peace. As President Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “We take off our hats to all Americans who have contributed magnificently to our common cause” ... to those responsible for our unceasing American produc- tion as well as those heroes, living and dead, of Wake and Bataan and Guadalcanal, of Gabes and Bi 2 ;erte and Tunis. Their unconquerable spirit will live forever.
