N Tewksbury H1gh Jo1ned the Nat1onal Honor Soc1ety The Chelmsford Chapter members came to 1n1t1ate our charter members at the North Street School Our thlrd year came to a close and we once more set out for our summer vacatlons After a delay of a week and a half we went back to those good old crowded locker rooms but at least we were senlors Our new off1cers were Ed Duffett pres1dent .Toe Frem VICC pres1dent Pat Sweeney secretary Ed Daly treasurer The football season got off to a good start wlth Barry Gougeon Fred Pennlno Bobby Busch R1chard Landers and Capta1n HICRCY The town showed 1ts sp1r1t when the Men's Club held a rally at the Town Hall the mght before the W1lm1ngton game After speeches everybody Jo1ned 1n a car parade that the pollce and f1re department escorted around town The parade ended at the State Hosp1tal where an effzgy was burned F1nally Thanksgxvlng arr1ved and the b1g game between Tewksbury and W1lm1ngton The team d1splayed great sportsmansh1p Tewksbury beat W1lm1ngt0n Rrchard Booth was the d1sc Jockey for the Vlctory Dance at the Town Hall that nlght D1Ck1e Weddleton and Capta1n H1ckey rece1ved awards for the most valuable players Our Harvest Hop was a great success at the North Street School Many records were g1ven away and pr1zes to the wlnners of the danclng contest Cec1le Parent and her escort won the Jltterbug Contest Back to school aga1n after a DICE long Chrxstmas vacatlon but more th1ngs to worry about report cards After our tales of woe were taken home and we got our parents' op1n1on everythlng was 1n full swlng aga1n bara Wells burned the rrldnlght 011 gett1ng the art work completed Rosemane Maestr1 got calloused f1ngers from typxng but the yearbook was completed Mr Bastable supplled everybody w1th catalogues whlch kept us wonder1ng 1f we were choosmg the r1ght professum The Nat1onal Honor Socxety th1s year elected Bob Busch pres1dent Ed Duf fett v1ce pres1dent Carol D1Palma secretary George Garland treasurer The Men's Club for the flrst tzme gave a d1nner dance 1n honor of the cheer leaders and football team The senlor boys were each g1ven a Jacket and the sen 1or gxrls rece1ved adorable blue sweaters The cheerleaders were also g1ven a cham Wlth a megaphone attached Sandra Clark Conme Bruno Pat Sweeney Ce c11e Parent, Irene LeBoeuf, and Captaxn Nancy Guard Jo1ned 1n w1th Fred Penmno Barry Gougeon Robert Busch and Captaxn Hrckey and started the danc1ng to the tunes of Lavallee's Melody Masters W1th hardly a warnmg June had crept up on us and w1th lt Semor Week Re hearsals for graduatmn the class tr1p the Prom, and the banquet kept us 1n a wh1rl for one exc1t1ng week The last thlng on our 11St of h1gh school act1v1t1es whlch was by far the most xmportant of course was our graduatwn and Wltll that beh1nd us we go forward to face the future 43 v v C ' I Mrs. Basile and the yearbook staff got the Scroll off to press on time.
