It was due to the generous donations from the business men of Choteau that this was made possible. After several games, including the memorable practice game with Great Falls, the squad disbanded with only experience on our side of the score sheet but with a desire for more next year. A start was made, however, and the enthusiasm with which it was received put football here to stay. Our team improved each year and from this beginning developed our splendid team of 1924. tb 1923 FOOTBALL LN 1924 1924 football was started under a new coach Kent Midgett of Intei mountain Union College at Helena Practice started a week after school began During the first week the squad was put through light practice The recruits had to be taught how to catch and deliver the ball Falling on the ball and tackling was also practiced At the end of the first week the squad was sore and stiff To make matters worse Coach Midgett made them run twice around the tra k after each practice The next two weeks the squad was put through ordeals of signal prac tice scrlmmaginf, falling on the ball tackling and running around the track Coach Mldgett picked a team and slow ly but surely moulded it into shape for a game 7 MM J Foo all in 1 J 9 ' 1 . . .
