'Led' lays it up as T.H.S. squeezes past New Milford. Phe shot fRay'sU just wonit go in. xr. .W W, X, Although Terryville High School was ranked thirteenth in the GIAC tournament standings, the 4'Kangaroos ad- vanced to the semi-finals before being outscored by Ells- worth lklemorial High School. In the first contest Terryville defeated Hale-Ray. The most remembered game, however, was the second, Terryville vs. St. Anthony's. Having been beaten by slight margins in their two regular-season games, Terryville turned the tables on the fifth-ranked Nsaintsw and surprisingly upset them. In the quarter-hnals two foul shots by Leon Maekiewicz clinched the victory of the Orange and Black over New lWilford High, which held a victory over the top-ranked team. The semi-Finals proved to be a nheartbreaker' with Terryville dropping a one- point decision to Ellsworth. Not realizing until early fall that there would be a varsity team, the boys worked hard to attain their Fine record. Along with their record, the boys brought respect for themselves and the school which they represented. Terry- ville students are very proud of their 1958-1959 gallant team. 0- if 'Tru ! , I A-t .A-Q sf z -wiser.,
