GIRLS' JUNIOR VARSITY -J First row: Shirley Cormier, Jane Pritchard, Mary Nimcheck, Beverley Brauer, Joyce Ashley, Frances Piatrowski, Sandra Barker. Second row: Joan Miastkowski, Cathy Gleason, Susan Cook, Edith Armbruster, Miss Uebrick, Judith Slovinski, Lorraine Cormier, Judith Roland. The J.V. Basketball team had an outstanding record of nine wins and one loss. The J.V.'s were determined to win the last game because the only team that had defeated them throughout their season was Litchfield. The outstanding player for Terryville was Beverly Brauer, high scorer, whose last basket put the J.V.'s ahead. Considering the terrific record the J.V.'s made this year, we are looking forward to seeing them play even better next year. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA ,A V S4 ls.. The Future Teachers of America club has been organized this year under the supervision of Miss Elizabeth Novak and Mr. Stephen Tompkins. On Sub-Freshman Days some of the members visited New Britain State Teachers College, talking with the students and attending classes. Other members visited classrooms in secondary and elementary schools, accord- ing to their interests, to help them decide which level of teaching they would prefer. On May 9, tive members attended a convention at Danbury State Teachers College. President, Tina Curtis, Vice President, Carol Rice, Secretary, Cynthia Scott, Treas- urer, John Smolenski.
