,Z if f THE STRANGE HOUSE' Date February T7 T955 Tlme 8 00 P M Settmg Terryvllle Hugh School Audutorlum Atmosphere One of tenseness and expectation More than five hundred people gathered to wltness the annual dramatic presentation of the sensor class of Terryvllle Hugh School As the hall lights dimmed and the stage curtalns opened talking stopped and eyes turned toward the stage for not knowing what to expect the audience was eager to see and listen to the characters of The Strange House as Interpreted by eleven members of the Class of T955 the warned house keeper Florence DlCola the comical mald Dorothy Holcomb the beautiful brcde Loretta Kammskn the adoring suster Vlrglnla Mlastowskl the talkative wife Manlyn Mattoon the domlneermg mother Joyce Mlskls the mys tenous sssternnlaw Rosemary Wysenskl the wanting young man Joel Anderson the self confident business partner Paul Embert the detectlve Michael Malley and the unsuspecting owner who brings hls bride to the strange house Davld Martell The audience was not disappointed These young performers built up the suspense and executed the humor of the play ln a professuonal man ner The efforts of this group of temporary actors actually began on January 3 when they attended the first In a serles of rehearsals held four days each week for sux weeks The final performance on February 'l7 was the culmmatnon of unremlttlng hard work by the cast and Its able dlrector Mr Blum The audience signified their enloyment and apprecuatlon by tremendous applause after each curtaln making the senior play an unfor gettable expenence for the members of the cast and all others who co Thurston orders Mrs Keeler to leave his house Frlghtened Hollis tells of the falllng chandeller operated an thus dramatuc venture Lefty goes unto action nn the sem: finals A Trlbute To Toby Vega we extend our thanks for has thorough 'ob m coochmg our varsuty basketball team to twenty mne straight vlc tones over a two year period Proudly, we shall remember each member of our 19541955 Varsity basketball team that reached the sem: finals un the Connec tacut Class C tournament, for each one dns played good sportsmanship and excellent playmg abnhty on the basketball court We also wlsh to express our appreclatlon of the enthusiastic support given to the team by the townspeople and our cheerleaders .QV gift?
