Halfbacks Robert O'Rear and Dave Synder scored two touchdowns apiece on runs of 40 yards and 20 yards for O'Rear and 6 yards for Synder as the Braves overpowered Fernandina 49-0. Larry Hartsfield carried the ball on a play that covered fifty yards—the longest run of this Homecoming night. Backs Eldred Moody and Eric Moon also crossed the double stripes for six-pointer. Gerry Wich-man caught three P.A.T. passes from Wayne Doolittle to complete the scoring. Led by the quarterbacking of Wayne Doolittle, t h e Braves romped over the Rebels of Forrest, 27-0. Doolittle's three touchdown passes and Synder's outstanding performance on both offense and defense provided most of the sparkling play of the night. The Terry Parker Braves tied Paxon 13-13 at the Eagles Nest to win a bowl berth at Palatka's Strawberry Bowl. Dave Synder was a stand-out again by scoring both of Parker's touchdowns. Synder scored from six yards out and also raced 78 yards for another six-pointer. Cecil Longino made Parkers lone P.A.T.
