Since Parker opened its doors—its growth has been rivaled only by the de-velopment of Arlington itself. The goals of Terry Parker are only reflections of the high ideals of our growing community. We the Chieftain Staff wish to show you the progress being made in our community, in our schools, and in ourselves. Page Four Arlington had progreMed front the old... Page Five ( dedicated tc Paul 0. tflcCei) Terry Parker High School has been fortunate in having an Assistant Principal who is so devoted to his work and shows versatility in all that he does. With this in mind, she joined the annual staff in the tenth grade and worked her way up the ladder until, this year, she reached success as the editor of a well organized and successful yearbook. While maintaining one of the highest scholastic averages, she has been a Student Council officer among other activities. She also obtained the position of Worthy Advisor in the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. I ANSIL RAMSAY It is not often that a boy in high school obtains honors in athletics, extra-curricular activities, and scholarship, but Ansil has been an outstanding member of the football team, a class officer for two years, president and officers of other clubs, and a member of National Honor Society. These activities have led the fellow members of his graduating class to believe that he is one of the best all round boys and will be a great success in life. Page Two Hundred OUTSTANDING SENIORS BABS WATTS Bobs has been given the honor of serving as president of Anchor club, one of the few honorary clubs for girls in high school. She has participated in a variety of clubs and has assisted in work for her graduating class. She is a member of National Honor Society and has been active in the Episcopal Church youth activities. OUTSTANDING SENIORS GERRY CLAYTON Gerry has represented Parker to the best of his ability by moving to the finals in the National Merit Scholarship Contest. His extremely high grades throughout his high school career helped him achieve this national honor. National Honor Society is just one of the activities he participates in while taking the college preparatory course at Parker. y SONYA SHEPPARD Sonya's achievements have included a determined effort to represent Parker to the best of her ability. She has been given the high honor of serving as a Student Council officer for three years during which time she was chaplain, treasurer, and vice president. She has not limited herself, however,- to this one activity. She has participated in a variety of extra curricular activities while maintaining a high scholastic average. f DICK SHORTLIDGE While being a member of National Honor Society is itself a great achievement, Dick has had the opportunity of leading this elite club to bigger and better things while serving as president this year. He has participated in other clubs and activities while serving in this exalted position and maintaining his high scholastic average in preparation for his college education.
