Coach Shepherd gives last minute locker room instructions. Terry Advances To State The Terriers started out their season under Coach Shepherd by playing in the Baker Invitational Basketball Tournament. Terry lost out and was plagued by a six- game losing streak. In the conference play the Terriers bounced back by winning the next six straight. The Terriers ended their conference record with nine wins--five losses. By the time the District Tournament came around Terry was ready. We defeated Broadus the first game, but lost to Sacred Heart the next night. We beat Plevna to get into the fight for third and fourth with jordan. We won by two points and then went on to defeat Wibaux in a challenge. The Terriers were then proud to hear that Tim Inman was selected Most Valuable Player in the District Tournament. The Terriers then travelled to Glendive for the Divisional Tournament. By defeating Lambert and Lustre, Terry got a berth in the championship game. The Terriers lost to the Shamrocks of Miles City by five points. Monday night Medicine Lake challenged Terry but the Terriers wal- loped them by nineteen points. So away went the Terriers to Helena for the State Tournament. The Terriers lost out to St. Labre, who turned out to win the State Championship, and Boulder, the predicted winner. Terry in summing up their season, was quite successful. We were the second in our district and the second best team in the Eastern Division. Next year it will be the Sportsmanship trophy!
