Senior Class Officers Three senior boys presided over the activities of the class. Tim In- man, a noteworthy ballplayer, directed affairs as president. His worthy assistant was james Hauck, vice-president Qcenterj. Ray Link fulfilled his secretarial duties. The Story Of A Class It was a calm sunny day in 1963. The trees and grass were green, not spring green but Au ust reen h' h 7 g g ! W 1C was a yellow-green color due to the sun's rays. About 8: 15, Terry High School was bombarded with students who were reluctantly returning to another year of education. There was one group of students, 51 in all, who did not seem to have any opinion of the comin school S year-- at least, they did not express it. They were too scared. As man of them at h d h y W c e t e upper classmen, some no doubt, were ready to try the eighth grade again. However, there were brave ones who set about ,I . t f. d . . . . ying o in their lockers. Since they had registered a week earlier, they knew they had a locker but. . . was it 26 or 62? For several days, classes were interrupted with a knock and a shy, embarrassed frosh asking ls this general math class ? Soon freshman introduction was upon them and they were required to bring candy for the greedy seniors. Many people felt the freshmen were little brats who never did much of anythin however with o l f g n y our class meetings throughout the whole year, they managed to break a T. H. S. traditicin of the seniors always wi ' th 1 l ' nning e annua sa es contest by defeating all other classes. The next year when S4 students returned as sophomores, they were much more confident and at ease. They went to their classes and were quite industrious. The class was considered fickle because the h d h ' y c ange t eir float idea two nights before the parade! But no one could complain because they won second prize. M st f th h ' ' ' o o e sop omore year was characterized by work---homework, aptitude tests, achievement tests, and cleaning up the mess after the prom. Summer fun must have attracted several, as only 47 students returned to begin the 'unior ea of f J y r un . The biggest threat to the class was THE PROM which was put on for the Senior Class by the juniors. But alas this class had e l'ttl ' ' ' v ry 1 e money. Then someone suggested, 'Hey, hold a carwash, sell advance tickets. Soia carwash was held and they earned the much needed cash. The prom, which was the highlight of the junior year, had the theme Harbor Lights . The gym was decorated in light blue and light reen with fish et d h l ' ' ' g , n s an sea s e ls as added decorations. An old fishing boat and a lighthouse were also part of the scenery. The junior Class also put on a three-act farce entitled PEOPLE ARE FUNNY, to help relieve the cost of the prom. Forty-seven almighty seniors returned, ready to make whoopee out of their last, hopefully, year at Terry High School. Things started off with a grand slam when plans were made to initiate and give the freshmen a bad time, after all, it was done when they were freshmen! ln the spring of 1967, the seniors of Terry High School received their diplomas and ventured out into the world carrying the motto, Life is what we make it. 21
