Born artists . . . or the first time since Terry's opening in 1980, an Art Club was organ- ized this year. Over 25 members joined throughout the school year. Art Club gave students in- terested in art a chance to get together with others and to learn more. Being in Art Club gave me a chance to meet people that are interested in art also, said junior Fransisco Balderas. A trip involving visiting the Houston Museum of Art was planned, however unforeseen difficulties prevented the plans at the last minute. Art Club raised money by having bake sales. Buying a bulletin board for the Art department to put in the hallway was the main objec- tive for the Sales. Elected officers for the year were juniors, president, John Newman, vice-president, Mar- tin Rodriguezg secretary, Juan Balderasg and senior, treasurer, Myung Lee. 77
