The vvarmth of its laughter and companionship is the general atmosphere felt throughout the school. Loyalty to the school and its ideals is expressed in class- work, athletics, social affairs, and extracurricular activities. From association with this school, many have reached their goal in life - success and happi- ness. With this thought in mind, the annual staff has created the TIGER, a partial record of events and achievements at Terrell High as kept by its students. The overall record could not possibly be presented in its entirety on 232 pages, but each page may be regarded as a segment of school activity. We hope that in the years to come this year- book will help to keep alive the memories gathered during the year of 1966-67. 3 X ' . Y A - ' . , The 1967 Tiger is proudly and respectfully dedicated to Mrs. Bob Rahmlow. Those who know her can only approve of our choice as being the right one. We hold her in high esteem for her unselfish devotion to Terrell High and its student body. Dances, bonfires, class plays and the United Fund Campaign - these are but a few of the activities that in- volve the services of this untiring and devoted woman, who has put first above all things the school and the people within it. Carre!! junirfr-Senivr High Schzwl ,Mrs Dorothy Hester Zim 60-Ordimzfrfr What's Happening . .? So many facts have developed since the beginning of Project Discovery in our school that to tell you all that is occurring would be impossible. However, this we know-- students and teachers are using the films and filmstrips with the ease and confidence of veterans. These audio-visual materials and machines have become friendly tools in the hands of the curious and the interested. Stim- ulation by their use has caused an upsurge in library book circulation. Research on the im- pact of Project Discovery on pupil achieve- ment is continuing under the direction of East Texas University, We strongly feel that the measureable benefits of Project Discovery within the next few years will such that every institution of learning will feel with certainty that audio- vision is essential to the grasping and retention of knowledge necessary to keep pace with the age in which we live today and hope to live tomorrow. I hope your images include a sense of humor, a feeling of freedom, a knowledge of fair play, and a respect for the dignity of God and man. These are some of the traits found in what I consider an educated l'Il3.l'1. Mr. Dau 0. Drfuglass Priuczpal A task without a vision is drudgery. A vision without a task is a dream. A task with a vision is victory. Fill your life with a multitude of tasks because being forced to do your best, and forced to work, will breed in your temperance, self-control and many other worthwhile virtues. And remember to search for visions to make victories out of the every day tasks in your life. M, arpag www b-AA 4 ,, ., 1 f .. K,,12.,, .Q.: , Vyn.. . - - '1 'Q . My liquid life, I now watch pour, like those before me in this war. My buddies moan and gather round, they gently lay me on the ground. I hear the medic whisper low, he's going yes, but going slow. My mind says no! this cannot be this must not be the end for me. My love for family, love for life, must not end here in foreign strife. My nerves tense up, I feel the pain, and strangley now, I wish for rain. As if to wash away from me, the smell of death I can almost see, I hear the medic say, just then, he 's drawing closer to the end, I feel hot tears burn down my cheeks, and still to the earth my life does leak I'm blood and gore and screaming steel, the warmth of life, I no more feel. And now I know, that never more, shall I feel the fears and pains of war. The 66 Tigers fought against heavy odds all year with many in- juries. The Tigers got off to a quick start with two big wins over Greenville and Palestine, The big game of the season was against the Athens' Hornets, where the Tigers played 110070 all night long loosing by seven points. The successful season was due to long hours on the practice field, good support of the Tiger fans, and most of all to the fantastic spirit. The Tiger's spirit, which seemed to rekindle spirit in the en- tire student body, soon became evident as the main factor contributing to the Tiger's winning season, 85 Kelling. 1 , , y i 5M 1967 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE TERRELL OPPONENTS 6 Greenville 20 Palestine 0 Sulphur Springs 6 Plano 12 Ennis 26 Waxahachie 0 Athens 14 Duncanville 20 La Vega 12 Lancaster Bill Conradt, Joe Flowers, Steve Martin, 85 Larry Richie I69 Ugers Sm JIM TANKERSLY PAUL POLK Z X BENITO CARMONA Quarterback Right End VL Fullback D Q JERRY VIC K Gig 'em Tigers Halfback Terrell vs. Dunc anville I4 In fylc' Terrell vs. Lancaster RICHARD WEBSTER Middle Guard Terrell vs. Lancaster ANDY CLAYTON CHESTER HOWARD ULLYSES JEFFERSON Center Tackle End DALE HARDY GEORGE VEAZEY CHARLES MADGWICK Left End Right Tackle Left Tackle if ,E - i.
