Masons Level Cornerstone Approximately 1500 persons converged on the Terrell Junior -Senior High building site af- ter 70070 completion, March 15, 1965, for the leveling of the cornerstone. J. Carroll Hinsley explained that the ceremony was handed down from the masons of England who always leveled the cornerstone as the first step in construction. The leveling of the stone determines the direc tion and trueness of the structure. The students at Terrell High took advantage of the occasion to stage a money-raising project to provide carpeting for the auditorium and administrative areas in the new structure. Rustay, Martin Cgl Vale of Houston, Texas, is the architectural firm which designed the 1 114 million dollar building containing 128, 000 square feet. The school, designed for 1200 students with an anticipated increase to 1800 students, is completely climate controlled on a year-round basis. The academic and vocational areas, as well as the gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, and administrative areas are all located in one building.
