Adllins. girls' athletic association The Girls' Athletic Association started off its year with a bang . At one of the early meetings they held a hockey play-day for Madeira. Their initiation was held at the first meeting in November. At that time thir- teen new members were initiated and several new Board members were elected. That election completed the Board of eleven members. They are as follows: Gayle Crawford, President, Penny Roose, Vice-Presdient, Sue Havens, Secretary, Ruth Barnett, Treasurer, Clara McGee, Sports Manager, Mary Jane Van Camp, Sue Arnett, Nancy Williamson, and Dorothy Clennin, Class Repre- sentatives, Addie Martin, Red Team Captain, and Nancy Chapman, Black Team'-Captain. page forty-six This year G.A.A. sponsored a Ghost basketball game, and invited boys from Milford, Anderson, and Madeira to participate. Our traditional G.A.A. dance was changed from late spring to Christmas time. The dance given was a formal- The Winter WonderIand , and was held in the Newtown Gym. Two weeks before the dance, campaigns were begun for the election of Man-of-the-Year . This year C. W. Johnson was chosen as king. He was crowned by the President of G.A.A. The highlight of the year was the Mother-Daughter Banquet, which had been a tradition at Terrace Park for the past three years. Awards were pre- sented and the festivities ended after the teams had presented their skits.

The Language Club has had a most successful year under the capable and helpful leadership of Miss Harris. Miss Harris, o new member of thelfaculty at Terrace Park, is a graduate of Ohio State University. There she majored in French. Upon return from a trip through France, Miss Harris came to teach at Terrace Park. The club meets once a month. At the first meeting of the year, officers were elected and plans, made. The results of the election are os follows: President, Bill Sommer, Vice-President, Penny Roose, Secretary- Treasurer, Dianne Cady. There were two members initiated at the January meeting. They were Marlene and Dorothy Jennings. The club has had a very full and interesting sched- ule this year. One of the most interesting activities was o trip to the Guild Theater to see a foreign movie. ln the spring a Spanish Fiesta was held. Everyone had a delightful time. ln May all the members went down- town to o Language Club dinner party. Near the end of the year, the students in the Language Club presented a short comedy in two acts. lt was given for the students who are interested in taking modern languages. page forty-five
