Some of its members entered Carthage Fair where Nancy Fox, Nancy Philipps, Barbara Bowen, Wilma Spresser, Marilyn Taylor, Joan Becker, Ann Obermeyer, Marian Taylor, Jean Skor, and Gayle Kaeuper won pizes in Home Economics. Gayle Kaeuper, Jerry Morgan, Carol Rummel, Mary Kay Adams, and Anne Peterson won prizes in Art. The eighth grade has been selling notebook paper as a project. page thirty-two The class has sent two Care packages, one to Korea and one to Japan. Bud Johnson, Robert Scaggs, Jerry Robinson, Bruce Hummel, David Hughes, Thermon Martin, Ronnie Massman, Paul Kessling, Richard Godfrey, Ronald Scott, and John Bronnimon played on the Junior High Basketball Team. Ann Obermeyer's story, one of the best in the eighth grade English class, was printed in the BULLDOG. The eighth graders spent an evening at the Observa- tory also. ,

Among the class's projects were a food and clothing drive during the Christmas season. The food was distributed to needy families, and the clothes were given to the Good Will Industries. Kurtz. seventh grade The Seventh Grade Class consists of 8 boys and T8 girls. ln spite of its few numbers, the class has achieved many things this past year. First, the Severlth Grade float tied for first place with the G.A.A. at the Homecoming football game. Marianne Jordan was chosen as candidate for queen. On December l2, the social studies class presented a program at the P.T.A. meeting. The Seventh Grade, with the help of Mrs. Carlton and under David Kipp's leadership, took an active part. The program centered around the countries of the Orient-Japan, China, and Korea. A movie was shown on Japan and the members had an exhibit on these countries. Sue Schmithorst and Marianne Jordan participated in the Variety Show at the Senior Carnival. They presented a satire on the balcony scene from Shake- speare's Romeo and Juliet. Many of the Seventh Grade students took part in the annual Grade School Christmas program. David Kipp represented his class on the ,Junior High Basketball team. page thirty-three
