Among the class's projects were a food and clothing drive during the Christmas season. The food was distributed to needy families, and the clothes were given to the Good Will Industries. They participated in all sports and carried the Reserve basketball team through a highlylsuccessful season. Many members increased the rosters of the Science Club, Latin Club, and All-Hi. The class meetings were well conducted by the officers who were as page lhirty follows: Jim Harmon, President, Mark Cottings, Vice-President, and Nancy Williamson, Secretary-Treasurer. The cooperative spirit of the class was exemplified in the preparation of the float which was entered in the ceremonies for the Homecoming football game. The class was indeed honored by having,its candidate, Mary Sexton, chosen for Homecoming Queen.

Some of its members entered Carthage Fair where Nancy Fox, Nancy Philipps, Barbara Bowen, Wilma Spresser, Marilyn Taylor, Joan Becker, Ann Obermeyer, Marian Taylor, Jean Skor, and Gayle Kaeuper won pizes in Home Economics. Gayle Kaeuper, Jerry Morgan, Carol Rummel, Mary Kay Adams, and Anne Peterson won prizes in Art. The eighth grade has been selling notebook paper as a project. page thirty-two The class has sent two Care packages, one to Korea and one to Japan. Bud Johnson, Robert Scaggs, Jerry Robinson, Bruce Hummel, David Hughes, Thermon Martin, Ronnie Massman, Paul Kessling, Richard Godfrey, Ronald Scott, and John Bronnimon played on the Junior High Basketball Team. Ann Obermeyer's story, one of the best in the eighth grade English class, was printed in the BULLDOG. The eighth graders spent an evening at the Observa- tory also. ,
