FRESHMEN HE freshmen class staried the year by electing as officers leanne Cummins, president: Roland Seed, vice-presideniy and Eleanor Cosby, secretary and treasurer. Ieanne Cummins, Eugene Bloomfield, and Thelma l-leis were chosen for the assembly committee. This year the freshmen furnished ihree Cheerleader understudies for the reserve basketball games: layne Clark, Anne Burnham, and Ieanne Cummins. The annual freshman party was held on Friday evening, March the seventh. Some of the pupils gave the play, Wild Nell , which has become a tradition, since it has been given at every freshman party for the last fifteen years. FOURTH ROW fstandingl left to right B. Films were useo depicting lite dress and customs of the French- speaking inhabitants ot Montreal and Ouebec provinces and the Gaspe region in Canada. The Noel meeting brought a study of holiday customs and Noel arols. At the last meeting New Orleans with its Mardi Gras and French quarter and th cities cf Fren h origin in the Mississippi Valley were studied. Le Francais a la Page a newspaper published in Toronto, Canada has contributed modern current French expressions as well as news. The club as a group saw the French-made movies Les Perles de la Couronne and La Kermesse Heroique. At the Fiesta-Fete le Cercle Francais presented La Ouete Fatale.
