la? F S CAGERS TAKE 2nd A very tall, highly talented and very experienced Tiger Frosh-Soph ball club captured a second place finish in the N.P.L., but did so in a very strange way. After sweeping the league and going undefeated through the first eight games of the season, the Tigers proceed- ed to lose five of their next six contests, dropping them into se- cond place in league play. Even so, this club's 9-5 record was se- cond in total league wins the history of Terra Nova. All league honors were cap- tured by first teamer Craig Hert- zberger Second team honors went to Rich Braun. Honorable mentions went to Ron Delcarlo and Warren Zehe. GIRLS' VARSITY CAGERS TAKE PL GET 5th CGNSECUTIVE CCS BERTI-I The girls' varsity contained its winning ways, winning the NPL championship with an 11-2 record and going on to the CCS playoffs for the fifth straight year, in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Led by returning senior starters Nancy Juergens and Jenny Champ- neys, as well as the highly talented group of sophomores. The team coasted to a NPL co-championship, Champneys and Juergens shared M.V.P. honors, while four of the starting five made all-league honors.
