VARJHHJ CAGERS TAK ITTIDTHE 1HOOP Wins! That's the difference between this year's Varsity Basketball team and last year's team. It was a totally different attitudef' said Coach John Goulding. This yearas team is twice as good as last year's, commented Junior guard Charles Bonney, the good thing is that we have six players returning next year, including four starters. Team play was the major role played in the team's success,', Senior forward Doug Henry replied. l'It really feels good to win some games, said the sharp shooting guard Joey Scheid. Rick Gase commented, It's been a fun year because we are winning some games and every player gets to play. It's a total team effort. The Lancers were led by high scoring Senior Doug Henry at one forward and Junior Herreria at the other forward spot. The start- ing guards were Senior Joey Scheid, Junior Charles Bonney. Ju- nior Paul Melker rounded out the starting line up at the Center Position. Coming strong off the bench was Senior guard Mike King and Junior guard-forward Rick Gase. Rounding out the Varsity team was Senior guard Ronald Kinerman, Sophomore forward Charles Walker, and Junior Lee Gates who contributed alot to this years team success. Coach Goulding commented, I was able to substitute freely with- out hurting the team any. Our team was at least eight men deep talent wise. J .V. HOGPERS Dedication, Hustle, and Attitude, that's what Coach Cedell Clay- ton demands from his Junior Varsity Basketballers. Every player must come to practice everyday and give l00'Za if they wanted to play in the up coming gamesf, replied Coach Clayton. The main objective of this team was to get the younger players ready for their future up at the Varsity level. The team was lead by Sophomore Steve Jackson. He was the difference for us this year,', Clayton commented. Another outstanding player was Sophomore guard John Lambert. Altogether the 1981-82 J.V.
