LANCER LADIES ADD ZIP TO THEIR ZGCM 5- AW fig! Under the direction of Coach Mike Pinto, the Lancer Basketball Ladies started off their season on the right track, winning six of twelve pre-season games. The Ladies took fourth place in their annual McKinley-Ville Pan- ther Classic tournament, in which they traveled north to Humboldt County and won their first game in three years. Going into the league season, the Lancers were forecasted by the Daily Review to place third in league. A close rapport between coach and team made the season success- ful and happy. Said second year player Marioly Fiandor, We have a very good relationship with Mr. Pinto. He doesn't tell us what to do, he shows us. Added Darlene Martin, The relationships between coach and player is a good one, he goes farther than just coaching, he's a friend. Summed up Michele Yin, We had a really great team this year. Even though we had most of the same people as we did last season, we played more as a unit and balanced our scoring.
