OPHOMORES SHO UNIT School spirit is one thing Tennyson High seemed to lose more and more of as the years have gone on until the Class of 83,' came onto the scene. Although the class took a measly third place in spirit week competition with the slogan SOPHOMORES GO BA- NANAS, they had the widest variety of people involved in the spirit week activities in many years. Jocks, rah-rahs, and just the normal studentsjoined in on the spirit week festivities when usually only the rah-rahs are absorbing all the fun. The sophomores took second place in the float competition and first place in the hallway competition. If it weren't for not getting enough bonus points during the week of fun the sophomore class might have been in contention for the first place trophy. Led by class officers Steve Bongard, President, Dahlia Buss, Vice President, Sheryl Shawen and Steve Jackson, SecretaryfHistori- Ricardo Acevedo John Achaigua Danny Aguilar . if 4- .,:ef.. .4 ' 'A ,F-1, 'Ire tw . 1? These fund raisers consisted of car washes, coupon book sales, a candy sale, and an aluminum can drive. The class made over S900 on just three of the four attempts at raising money. The one fund raiser that failed was the aluminum can drive. The only cans brought in were those of the teacher advisor, Mr. Morrison. Well, I had a fun year. We tried but I guess we needed to get it together sooner, said Sheryl Shawen. This thought was shared by many of the sophomores and because of these feelings the class of 83 showed they were more together than a lot of classes were in the years before them. 7...- David Aguilar Millie Alemasov Amy Alvarei X, o' ill Eric Anderson Ferdinand Arafiles Lori Arrabit ' 6... .,f' Q I Af.,-X ff Pablo Barrientos Sheri Baumgart Mike Beaudry
