EJ .5 'W BADMINTON SWINGS TO SUCCESS This years Badminton team played with real determina- tion , said Coach Prince. Although there were an awful lot of first year players the team was successful. There were 12 returnees from the previous year. One of the returnees Alfred Hernandez added, Our teams strong points were girls and boys doubles, and mixed doubles? Tennyson's weak point has always been singles but they worked on improving their singles game. The team practiced everyday after school for two hours and usually had games twice a week. There were more pre-season matches which were nice because it gave the new players a chance to get the feelingw, commented Susan Hanson. This years team showed real dedication! l32fBa1dminton

Ourcoaching staff is a lot better. Junior Dawn Amaral agreed by adding, Our team has come a long way through the years and we've improved a lot. Coaches Jeanne Calamar and Cindy Currier worked with the girls and produced a successful season. f'The team showed great promise and has the ability to be a league contender. Coach Currier summed up for them both. In their first pre-season game on March 12 at Pacific High School, Tennyson had a shakey start. The Vikings slipped past Tennyson with a score of 4 to 2. This showed that the Lancers could become a major threat throughout the season. Varsity Softball fl3l
