TPI AWAAAAY I like typing but lid rather be smoking! puffed Jaime Orr. Typing was only one of the many Business Ed classes offered this year. Recordkeeping, shorthand, account- ing, business English, and office occupational lab were also offered. Record keeping took the place of general business. Fil- ing, alphabetizing, and budgeting are the main class requirements. Office Occupational Lab, ran just like an office. Stu- dents work at their own speed on typing, ditto ma' chines, and individual assignments. Extra credit is earned by doing a spelling and punctuation book. Once a week a test is taken on the opposite spellings of busi- ness words. A ,. , ,ty Betty Leach Shorthand, Bus. TERNATIONA TO ES Escargots, eclairs and quiche served at the banquet, and a Christmas play were just some of the activities highlighting the foreign language classes. There were two new additions to the foreign language department this year. George Khoury, who taught Spanish, and Jose Ovalle, who has been at Tennyson for many years as the Mexican-American counsel- or, taught beginning and advanced Spanish. There was a decline in sign-ups for the German classes, so a class was offered at Moreau High. Mrs. Wolff commented, I hope to build up the language program because the world is getting smaller and therels a need for communication with the other people in the world. 'Cx iv, inf!!
